About C&Q
ABOUT CALIBER & QUILL:
Caliber & Quill is an independent publication dedicated to timekeeping and the art of keeping time.
Founded by Rebekka Wachter, Caliber & Quill grew from a lifelong appreciation for the objects we carry and the stories they collect along the way.
Here you’ll find watches, writing instruments, notebooks, and conversations with the people who create them, alongside personal essays, reviews, and original photography by Rebekka. But specifications and products are only part of the story.
Caliber & Quill is interested in what happens after an object enters our lives—the places it travels, the moments it witnesses, the memories it carries, and the reasons we choose to keep it.
Welcome to Caliber & Quill.
ABOUT THE FOUNDER:
Rebekka Wachter is a writer, photographer, professional jeweler, and watch dealer with more than 26 years of experience in the fine jewelry industry. Her professional education includes credentials from Minneapolis College (formerly Minneapolis Community and Technical College), the Gemological Institute of America, and the Diamond Council of America, along with courses provided by timepiece manufacturers such as Rolex, Omega, and TAG Heuer. She later expanded that experience into the business of watches, training as a watch dealer under the mentorship of one of Minnesota’s most respected luxury timepiece companies.
Her appreciation for watches extends well beyond the business of buying and selling them. She has long been fascinated by their history, craftsmanship, and mechanics, but what interests her most is the relationship people develop with the watches they wear.
Her love of writing instruments began much earlier. Rebekka inherited an appreciation for a good pen from her father, whose immaculate handwriting left a lasting impression. That early fascination eventually grew to include caligraphy, notebooks, and the simple pleasure of putting pen to page.
Away from the jewelry counter and Caliber & Quill, Rebekka spends as much of her time outdoors as possible. An avid photographer, geocacher, and Ingress player, she is happiest exploring somewhere new—or simply setting out with no particular destination at all.
